Thank you for visiting our website. It is a great privilege for me to serve you as your Senator in the 45th District. Our four county district includes Alexander, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes County, and the population of our district is slightly over 170,000 people. Since January 2007 when I was sworn into office, I have worked hard on your behalf. From day one I promised to be bi-partisan in my efforts for our people, and I continue to serve with that promise constantly at the forefront of my decision making opportunities in Raleigh. I believe my task as your voice in Raleigh is to make sure you are represented with the integrity and fairness that you deserve regardless of your political affiliation. In other words, it is and will always be about “You the People” as long as I am your Senator.
As a new election looms just over the horizon in November 2008 I know it will take a lot of effort for me to be re-elected as your Senator. For me to be able to continue to serve beyond 2008 will require your assistance. Our campaign needs your support. We need your contributions to our campaign so we can compete effectively through advertising for the upcoming election. We also need your time as volunteers to help us get our message all across the 45th District. I will be eternally grateful for contributions and your time.
